Information
1
How Long Is Birth Pool Hire?
Your birth-pool hire covers your full 37–43 week birthing window.

Delivery or collection is arranged during your 36th week, allowing time to:
-
check the contents;
-
test-inflate the pool;
-
make sure the hose reaches your tap;
-
check the supplied tap adapters;
-
become familiar with the TENS machine and birth ball.
Your hire then continues until the end of your 43rd week, so there is no pressure to return the pool if your baby takes a little longer to arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book a birth pool?
Birth pools are often reserved several months ahead, so booking early gives you the best choice of pool. You can check availability using your estimated due date.

What dates should I enter when booking?
Enter your estimated due date when prompted. Your booking will cover the corresponding 37–43 week hire period.

Can I use the pool before active labour?
Discuss when to enter the pool with your attending midwife. Your pool should be filled with fresh water when it is needed rather than filled and kept warm for an extended period.

Is the liner included?
Yes. Every pool is supplied with a new, single-use liner designed for that pool model.

Is a hose included?
Yes. A new 10-metre single-use hose is included, along with a selection of tap adapters.

Can my partner get into the pool?
The La Bassine Maxi is the best option when two adults may use the pool. Always consider the available room, floor strength and your maternity team’s guidance.

How much space do I need?
Each product page includes the pool dimensions. Leave enough additional space for your midwife and birth partner to move safely around the pool.

Do I need to test the pool?
Yes. Please test-inflate the pool and check the kit shortly after receiving it. Do not fit the disposable liner during the test.

What happens after my baby arrives?
Let Wild Embers know that your baby has arrived. Empty, clean and fully dry the reusable equipment, then arrange its return according to your booking instructions.

Is the TENS machine included?
The TENS machine and birth ball are included in the Complete Birth Pool Package. Check the contents listed on your chosen booking option before paying.
